An evening wind-down blend: chamomile, lavender and lemon balm
Chamomile, lavender and lemon balm have all been drunk as evening teas for a very long time. They taste gentle and floral, and the ritual of a warm cup at the end of the day is a nice signal that it is time to slow down.
The blend
- 2 parts chamomile flowers
- 1 part lemon balm leaf
- A pinch of culinary lavender (a little goes a long way)
One "part" can be a teaspoon, a tablespoon, or a scoop, as long as you use the same measure for each herb. Mix in a clean jar and shake.
To brew
- Add 1 heaped teaspoon of the mix to a cup.
- Pour over freshly boiled water and cover.
- Steep for 7 to 10 minutes and strain.
Make it your own
Add a slice of fresh ginger for warmth, a few dried rose petals for a floral note, or a little lemon peel for brightness. You can build and order your own combination on our Build your blend page.
Good to know
Chamomile belongs to the daisy family, so people with allergies to ragweed or daisies should be careful. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or take prescription medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist before drinking herbal teas regularly.
